November 2014 - GEORGIA MORRIS
What a week for Georgia Morris.
Georgia was short listed for the Sports Officials UK Awards (for all sports) in the Young Official of the Year category. England Netball nominated Georgia for this award for her dedication and commitment to umpiring at a tender age. Several Titans members travelled to Daventry (30th Oct) to attend the awards ceremony, where we mixed with the officiating celebrities.
Georgia did not actually win the award, but only 3 officials were short listed for this category, so, we are mighty proud of Georgia's achievement.
In the same week, Georgia also passed her Level One Award in coaching.
FABULOUS ACHIEVEMENT!!!!

2nd November 2014 - Well done to Sarah Durrant on passing your Level One in Coaching Award with flying colours.
Sarah is actively coaching our U12 section, and will pass on her knowledge and skills to excel this group.

2nd November 2014 - Many congratulations to Rebecca Manley on successfully passing her 'A' award in umpiring, with flying colours. Rebecca has shown true grit and determination to fulfil her goals, after passing on the 3rd attempt. She has put in 8 years of effort to achieve her goal, and today, finally succeeded. Titans NC are very proud of her achievement, and especially Lorraine Beel, of whom has worked alongside Rebecca to achieve this status.
Rebecca is the first umpire of the South West Talented Youth Umpiring Programme to achieve their 'A' award status!
Well done Becks!!!!!!!

28.04.2014
Titans Apollo retain the Champions Title for Division One in the North Devon Senior League for 2013/14. Such a fantastic achievement for all their hard efforts over the last 12 months. It was certainly a thriller for all the spectators for the finale match of the season, taking on local rivals Carol Anne Diamonds. Knowing that we could afford to lose by the smallest of margins, of up to 5 goals, we were just pipped of having an unbeaten record for the season, when Diamonds edged the match in the last 2 minutes, to win by 2 goals (41-39). The match was certainly there for the taking, and everyone on court played their part to retain the title. Player of the match plaudits went to Rebecca Manley at wing attack, for her timing on the ball, and giving options to her team mates.
Team line up (left to right): Lorraine Cleverdon, Kellie Finney, Paula Young, Ruth Chamings, Rebecca Manley, Clare Aldrich, Katie Jeffery and Louise Lathwell. Missing from photo: Nicola Hinton.

Only having picked up the whistle in the last few months, Hannah has shown everyone, her ability to excel on the umpiring pathway in such a short period of time. One of her key strengths noted, as speed, drive and hold, with her positioning and timing on court. Well done Hannah.

08.09.2013 Titans Regional Squad take 4th spot out of 13 teams at the South West Regional League Pre Season Tournament at Exeter University. Starting the day with a great win over Hucclecote Comets 11 - 7. They then took on the tournament winners of the day (div 1 side) Exeter. With only 2 minutes on the clock, Titans had a 4 goal lead, but this dwindled down to level with 20 seconds remaining on the clock, and somehow we managed to keep her wits about us, to secure the draw of 8 all. (We were the only team to score points on the winners of the day, so, very pleased with this result)
We then took on the experienced Cornish side of Saints (Div 1 champions last season). This was certainly a challenge, and all players in the team got to take to the court, to experience the play of these strong, well drilled players. We came off with a hefty defeat of 16 - 4. Next challenge was our local rivals of Carol Anne Diamonds. We dominated from the first whistle and were always in full control, coming away with a fine victory 12 - 10.
Our last 2 matches in this pool, were against Old Chelts (winning 18 - 4), and Devizes (winning 13 -8). Our new regional players to the squad, Nicole Lathwell and Mel Barnard slotting well into the game. Since Cornish side Saints had lost to Exeter and Hucclecote, Titans then secured the runners up spot for this group. We then had to take on the Division 1 experienced side of Crossbow from Bristol in the Semi final. We started well and matched possession on the court. Coming in at half time the score line was 3 goals to 1 in Crossbow's favour. We fought hard for the second period, but our long range shots didn't find the net, as in previous games, and we lost the battle 9 - 6. For our final game for 3rd/4th place standings, we took on Hucclecote Stars. The young side started well, and intercepted many a passes, making Titans creep a few unforced errors into the game. At half time the score line was 6 - 2 to Hucclecote. For the last half, we continued to battle, but tiredness crept in, and Hucclecote pulled away to take the game 11 - 3. On a positive note, Titans were very pleased to take 4th spot for the tournament, and lots of combinations of players were used on court. Considering new players into the team today, Titans took on board their roles to play, and this makes for an exciting regional season ahead of us. WELL DONE.
Players: Back row (l tor): Katrina Venner, Louise Lincoln, Paula Young, Nicola Hinton, Ruth Chamings, Clare Aldrich, Front row: Louise Lathwell, Nicole Lathwell, Mel Barnard and Rebecca Manley.
19.05.2013 Another successful week for the mighty Titans!!

Trident 15 - 8
Totem Angels 18 - 4
Abbey Meads 9 - 8
Team Bath 13 - 8
Roman Glass 9 - 8
Bournemouth 13 - 7
We will now be playing in the South West Regional League Division 2 for the forthcoming 2013/14 season.
Well Played: Paula Young, Louise Lincoln, Nicola Hinton, Lorraine Cleverdon, Ruth Chamings, Louise Lathwell, Clare Aldrich, Rebecca Manley and Katie Jeffery.
